James 1:27 Ministry

James 127 ministry takes a strategic approach to brings the gospel in both word and deed  to our community.

HOW WE CARE FOR OUR PEOPLE

1. Deacon Ministry

Battleground Community Church is served by a team of Deacons who are responsible as team leaders in various areas of ministry. The Deacons involve others in carrying out those servant responsibilities so that the Pastors/Elders can devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Areas of ministry include: Hospital visitation, home-bound visitation, oversight for the James 127 fund, which is money that is distributed to our people in need. Additionally, Deacons serve us by administering the ordinances of Communion and Baptism, and most importantly, they are active members of our Growth Groups.

HOW WE CARE FOR THE DEFENSELESS

The Unborn Child

1. Actively participate and serve with the Cleveland County Pregnancy Resource Center

As part of our Acts 1:8 Fund, we have an active partnership with the Cleveland County Pregnancy Resource Center in Shelby, NC. You can give anytime to our Acts 1:8 Fund, in which a percentage of this fund goes to the Pregnancy Resource Center in addition to other local ministries. With our growth groups, we encourage you to participate and actively be a part of fundraisers and different giving opportunities sponsored by the Pregnancy Resource Center throughout the year. The Orphan

1. Give to the Hands of Hope Adoption Endowment Fund on Mother's Day

You can play a vital role in the miracle of adoption by helping to remove the financial barriers for Battleground Community families that have been called to adopt. So far, this fund has assisted five BCC families. Out of those five families, two children are currently in their forever homes and five more children are waiting to be united with their forever families. You can play a part in helping them fulfill their call to adopt and giving several children the opportunity to have a family that will seek to point them toward the Heavenly Father. Click here to give to the Hands of Hope Adoption Endowment Fund.

2. Adopt and/or become a foster parent

There are currently over 143 million orphans worldwide; some who are available for adoption.

In Gaston County, there are 191 children currently in foster care and only 47 DSS foster homes. These children desperately need the love of Christ to help them heal and point them toward the One who will never leave them or forsake them.

3. Advocate for them by becoming a guardian ad litem

You can be a voice for those who have no voice in the court system.

4. Volunteer in the Hands of Hope Ministry or other local ministries

Hands of Hope is our Battleground Orphan Care Ministry. We offer support and education opportunities through bi-monthly support group meetings and our once-per-year information banquet.

5. Visit the orphan through local missions or foreign mission trips

Hands of Hope will be offering on-going opportunities for mission trips locally and internationally.
